Top Free Activities on Maui for Honeymooners
Updated: Oct 24, 2018

Maui is one of the best destinations for your honeymoon hands down. If your wallet is already pretty light from your wedding, no worries, there’s plenty of free activities for you and your boo on this magical island.
Obviously we aren’t going to cover the hotel bedroom activities, but here’s some other things to fill your day with unforgettable experiences.
1. Waterfall Romancing.
Spending intimate time with your loved one under a waterfall definitely makes number one. Do your research and find one lacking a hundred tourists’ googling eyes.
2. Tide Pools.
Tide pools make great pictures and there’s nothing short of waterfalls that is as romantic than spending time with each other in Maui’s majestic natural pools. There’s also plenty of private tide pools here, so again, do you research or ask a local, we aren’t allowed to post them on here.
3. Beach Time.
Odds are, one of you are looking to get a tan, and then maybe into spending some intimate time together on the beach for sunset. The prettiest beaches I would take my significant other to would be little beach at Makena State Park, red sands in Hana, or slaughterhouse beach in Kapalua. Little beach has the best sunset of the three, and slaughterhouse and red sands are just pretty beaches to hang out and swim at.
4. Hiking.
If you’re an active couple, there’s plenty of beautiful hikes for you to go on. My top 3 for honeymooners would be Iao Valley, Waihee Ridge Trail, and the waterfall hike at Kipahulu.
5. Sunset Picnics.
Surprise your loved on with a sunset picnic on a beautiful hillside. Pack up and cooler and a blanket and that’s all you need. My personal favorite spots are the hill on the west end of Ho’okipa beach park and the pretty grassy hill in front of the Ritz in Kapalua that has an incredible sunset.
As you can see, there’s no need to spend anymore big money to have a great time once you arrive on Maui for your honeymoon. There’s plenty of natural wonders to keep you occupied.
I hope you guys have a magical time with this advice, if you want help guiding you around to the spots mentioned, book a guide with Trek Maui and we’ll be happy to help you out!
